Dallas Speech Therapy and Reading Services
At Dallas Reading and Language Services we work with pre-school and school-aged children. Our therapy programs and techniques greatly improve our students' speech, language and reading skills. Our therapeutic approach helps a child change how he or she processes or thinks about sounds and language. Speech therapy is provided by a licensed and board certified Speech-Language Pathologist (speech language therapist). We also provide services to pre-school age children in the areas of speech and language. Our therapy with pre-schoolers is provided within a context of literacy and learning basic concepts. As our younger clients progress into kindergarten they are screened for possible reading problems. The main reading programs offered at Dallas Reading and Language Services are LiPS®, (LindaMood-Bell Phoneme Sequencing), Seeing Stars® (an integrative approach to reading and spelling) and the Speech Cue program. Our speech therapist has developed a Speech Cue program for younger children, pre-schoolers and Kindergarten through First Grade. All of our reading programs are multi-sensory methods of learning, and adapted to best meet the needs of the child. Reading programs are integrated into school-age children's speech or language therapy. Your child will have individualized goals which will be addressed during each session, and updated monthly in a written report to parents. We also address both language and reading comprehension through therapy aimed at improving the child's visual imagery and language processing skills. This is done through traditional language therapy and use of the Linda-Mood Bell program Visualizing and Verbalizing®. These services are also provided by a speech-langauge therapist. If your child does not qualify for speech-language therapy but would still benefit from this program, we can refer to a "developmental tutor" to provide Visualizing and Verbalizing®. Our speech language pathologist (speech therapist) uses a combination of programs and approaches to best address your child's needs.
